Gambling Addictions

Casinos aren't really to blame. They are just taking advantage of people who have a propensity for taking unwarranted risks with their finances. The lure of a quick, easy buck tempts all of us into taking risks. Using the casino as a method of doing this absolves the casinos of any immoral or unethical business practice. If anybody is to blame, it's the people who allow themselves the fantasy or illusion of making quick bucks in a casino. They allow themselves to be taken advantage of. They are willing victims who should know better; that going into casinos mostly means losing money.

To consider addictions of gambling we will look at a few of the symptoms. Most symptoms start out vaguely, i.e. it is less obvious to others that an addiction exists. The person might gamble randomly, and over time increase his occupation in gambling. Gamblers addicted to the games will often feel the need to wager more cash on a game, especially when they win a low amount of money. Gambler addicts will feel irritable or restless, especially when the person is trying to stop his habit. The addicts will give chase to losses, while losing control of their senses, and will uptake their gambling habits regardless of the consequences.

When a person is an addict of gambling they often lose financially, endures legal troubles, or they might lose their family or job. Gamblers frustrated with their addiction and inability to control their obsessions may even commit suicide to escape the problems.

Gambling addictions are increasing, and according to statistics, more than two and one half million people are addicted to gambling. In some areas, around five percent of the people experience problems with gambling, thus the estimation has soared above the statistics of that of cocaine addicts.

Gambling causes various influences to arise, including emotional excitement, increasing of heart rates, and dissociation. The effects give the person the same type of high that common drugs give.

Gambling usually starts as a pastime. People bet on races, cards, roulette, etc and can lead to gambling addictions. Once the person begins winning a few dollars, the emotions are excited, which leads the person to believe that more money is in the making.

Always remember that you earned your money through hard work. You went to work and performed your duties eight hours a day, every day for five days of the week. You had to get up early in the morning to get to work. Sometimes you had to skip meals just to meet your deadlines. You went through all these and more just to get that paycheck and you want to gamble it away? Keep this frame of mind. It's a waste of hard-earned money.
