Bills Are Due and You Are Trying To Repair Your Credit

The bills are due, and you can't pay them as you agreed to already. This happens a lot to both persons and families so don't feel special. There is hope. Budgeting and some negotiation over time may get you back on track.

We all need a vehicle to get to and from work. It's an obvious need that we can't avoid. Though there are choices, new or used. Often you can get a decent used car for much less. And if already in a car payment, is there a way to lower that payment each month?

Your utilities, while important, may be extendable for lower late fees. While you can't get too far behind (45-60 days late) you may be able to be a little late on your telephone, and other utility bills. Note digital cable and satellite services often automatically turn off service by computer, though again usually after 45 days late these days. Telephone companies and electricity often go even further. They also may have senior citizen discounts, as well as low income options. It's wise to look for all options. Often you can cut features in telephone and cable that will also bring your monthly bill down.

If you are low on money and can't make the payments, Consumer Credit Counseling may be a good idea. There may also be extra help available if you are a low income family. Checking for social services may be a good idea. Nothing comes when you don't ask for it.

If you are stuck in a high vehicle payment, you might want to check all your options in that area. You may be able to sell it and payoff the loan and find another more affordable vehicle. This may be the case if your car is still worth more than the payoff amount. If you can find a better loan, getting a different car loan that pays off the current one with better rates can make a big difference as well. Some times it is possible to trade in for a cheaper vehicle and get a better payment though most of the time you wind up paying more (unless the old car is nearly paid off already).

Check the market for resources to help repair your credit. Being smart, and putting thought into it, will help you find a number of options. Look over as many as you can and don't be afraid to check them out thoroughly. In the end, narrow down to a few then choose one. Don't assume they are wrong or right. Check them all with the Better Business Bureau and also look for others that have already used these services. In the end the one activity that repairs credit is paying off the debt on time as agreed as well as the rest of your bills.

Everyone has times when things get difficult. The car breaks down, layoffs, disabilities, and more. Often it's these times we end up running up bills and even getting new ones all together.

Loans with collateral are harder to escape, unless you want to give up the collateral such as your car, or home. You don't want to miss these payments.

Other items such as those bought on a credit card, and store financed don't get repossessed, though they may take you to court for payment. The exception to this are Rent to Own items where they will repossess.

If you can get one loan that will pay everything else off, and leave you with a payment each month that leaves you what you need to pay the bills, buy food, and make the single loan payment, that's great and you should take it. But with this solution, take the time to look for more choices as you will find some are better than others. Again, check with those already using these sources and be sure they are happy. If they aren't, you may wind up in the same situation.
